Spelling: Using an innovative approach to spelling, your child will learn the different spelling rules and exceptions, using a program that is designed for independent study and that easily engages the child.
Grammar: Fourth grade grammar covers topics such as complete subjects and complete predicates, compound sentences, action verbs and linking verbs, conjunctions, irregular verbs, past-tense verbs, negatives, commas, direct and indirect quotations, sentence diagramming and more.
Writing: Using a "Benjamin Franklin" approach to learning to write clearly and beautifully, we incorporate a program that makes learning to write enjoyable for the child and parent.
Reading: Your child will read from either the original or abridged texts of some of the great classic authors such as Lousia May Alcott, Francis Hodgson Burnett, L. M. Montgomery, and others. Children will begin writing book reports for the books they have read. There is also a book of poetry so your child can continue memorizing poems, which is an excellent way to develop eloquence and improve memory skills.
Penmanship: An Italics penmanship workbook that focuses on cursive writing, and improving the Italic style. We include our Content of Character Copybook, the first in our curriculum series.

Latin: Though considered a “dead” language, Latin is still the key to the vocabulary and structure of all the romance languages and the technical vocabulary of all the sciences including law and medicine. Hamza Yusuf said that studying Latin will aid a child in better understanding Arabic grammar. Martin Cothran commented that nine out of ten times he can tell whether a person has studied Latin by the quality of their writing. Grade four introduces level two in our Latin series.
ART
The student will learn to draw from chapter titles such as: Animals of the World, Forest Animals, Grassland and Desert Animals. The course emphasizes the similarity between drawing and writing.
